Soft Shell is a spoken-word event presented by Art Writing at The Glasgow School of Art.
For this edition, Off Air presents an installation and performance at Mote showcasing work by the current Art Writing cohort. Including individual and collective work, Off Air asks what it means to inhabit a space as a group, to respond to others, and correspond across forms.
Shhh: A Soft Shell Broadcast accompanies this project, bringing together textual works as part of an immersive audio work.
Art Writing is a postgraduate programme in the School of Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art. This studio-based programme is unique in its shaping of an editorial, publishing and events-based pedagogy, where students are challenged to form the field as much as learn about the field, to consider the critical and evaluative function of art writing and its dialogic methodologies.
Art Writing publishes The Yellow Paper: Journal for Art Writing online and in print.
